The children were very busy in the block area today!

Great job girls!!!
The helped clean all the play dough off the table

During Jesus time we colored rocks

We had a great day today!  We started our day with gym.  The children really enjoyed bowling!! What a great way to develop hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills by rolling the ball to knock down the pins(dinosaurs)!!  We also practiced throwing!!  We threw balls through hoops!  The children really enjoyed both activities.
Next we went outside where we had new playground equipment.  A geo-dome(technical name)!!!  We have not come up with a better class name for it, but the children LOVED climbing on it.  It was so fun to watch the children watch other children climb, try it themselves and keep working at it until they were successful.  It took many different skills to climb and the children did great.  We developed motor planning skills as well as gross motor skills.  It also helps develop perseverance  The children were so proud of themselves!!
The children also got to participate in a class experiment.  We practiced follow directions by following a very simple recipe chart .  Each child got to participate by either adding ingredients or help mix.  It was hard to be patient to wait for our turn.  But this was a great activity to encourage turn taking and patience(not everyone got to do something at the same time).  The children did super and were very excited to see the play dough take shape and then enjoyed being able to play with after the experiment was completed!
And we ended our day with Jesus time.  We are continuing our David and Goliath story.  The message I want the children to remember is" God is always with you!"  We colored stones to remind us of the story, but mostly to remind us whenever we need HIM--- God is always with us!! David knew this and this is why he was able to use a stone to defeat Goliath.

Please remember Muffins for Moms is next Weds (11-9) starting at 7am.  Please enjoy breakfast with your child and then you may bring your child to class and join us for chapel.  It is a fun morning!!
