Everyone enjoyed learning the song... A boy named David!

Happy Halloween

What a busy day!!! We practice many skills today.  We started by strengthening our fine motors skills by stringing fruit loops.  The children did a great job !!! Then tehy could sort the fruit loops into the corresponding plastic pumpkin.  What fun!!!
We also learned a new skill!!!  Putting our coats on by ourselves--- we should the children step by step and everyone was so proud of themselves---we did lots of high fives!!!
We learned a new word... prediction!!!  We predicted what would happen when we mixed red and yellow......  then we got to paint we the new color we made.  MAke sure you check out the classroom to see what your child predicted predicted predicted predicted predicted the picture he/she made!

We also tried to predicted what was inside a pumpkin...  I am going to make a special book with their predictions and everyone will have a chance to bring it home!!

During Jesus time we learned the story of David and Goliath.  The children listened carefully and learned you do not need to be afraid when you have God on your side.  Plus we learned a song... " A boy named David"..... go to the following link and see the song with actions we learned today (not our classroom, but the children LOVED watching the video)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHkRPTwADBk&feature=related
Also in your child's back pack you will find a David and Goliath color sheet, as well as, 3 craft sticks.  Help your child cut out David and Goliath and glue to the craft stick.  The
3 rd craft stick is for the stone ( a black circle piece of construction paper).  Glue to the craft stick and then allow your child to retell the story with the stick puppets!!   Have fun!

Our Harvest Party was a HUGE success!!!!   The children really enjoyed themselves today.  I know that not everyone could be there today, so I hope looking at the pictures will help  you see how much fun the children had.  I especially want to thank everyone who help make the party successful....big or small.... donating items, helping prepare or being there today..... we couldn't have done it without you!!!  THANK YOU!!!
Trunk or treat is this Friday.... email me if you need more info.  It will be fun to see everyone there..... I might even dress up, so come and see if you know who I am.........

I know this weather is crazy and it is hard to keep up, but try to remember appropriate weather attire.  We do go outside(unless it is raining or below a certain temp)  Thanks!

Plus Weds is our Harvest Party.  It begins at 10am and everyone is welcomed to attend, but please no siblings ----thank you!!!

Some of the children choose to work in the block area where they worked very cooperatively and put together a 24 piece puzzle.  GREAT WORK!!

I brought in a pumpkin today.  The children got the chance to touch and feel the pumpkin, plus wash it!!!  Soon we will discover whats inside........

We made Jack-O-Lanterns with our marble painting we did last week.  Come check them out---they are hanging in the classroom.

New Scholastic order forms are being sent home in the back packs today.... please order on-line by 11-14. Then hopefully we can have the Thanksgiving books in time.... The classroom code is J7DXJ.  Thank You!!

Also I want to thank ALL the parents . I truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet with you last week and I am very thankful to have each of your children in my classroom! :)
