Wow!!  We had a busy and fun day!!  All the children did great and were very busy all day.  Our time went too fast!
We finished our egg books and they are hanging outside the classroom for you to take a peek at.
A favorite activity today was SHAVING CREAM.  We talked about where you start your letters (at the top)
and then asked the children to write the letter we wrote on the board...using the language we have been learning.  For example to make an "A".... start at the top.... one
"big line" then another "big line" and then a "little line"......  what fun!!!

Also the children could trace their own names from their placemats!!  I think ALL the children really enjoyed the shaving cream!!

Easter Break- April 6- 13.... April 5th is half day but of course doesn't affect our classroom

Please join us on Maundy Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church for a special Lenten service.... I will email more information...

This Saturday Zion is hosting an Easter Egg hunt.... should be a lot of fun.... please join us..... don't forget to RSVP if you want to attend(please see info that went home Monday)

MARCH 26, 2012

SO SORRY!!!  NO PICTURES TODAY... I COULDN'T FIND THE CAMERA IN THE CLASSROOM :(

We had a very busy today.  Our day started with the nurses taking a few children at a time for health screening.  Everyone did a wonderful and I'm sure the nurses will send information home about the results or notify you if there are any concerns.

We enjoyed our outside time.  God blessed us with another beautiful spring day!!!

We are continuing our unit on OVIPAROUS animals.  I am so proud of the children.  They do a terrific job pronouncing this word and remembering what it means.  We made books today...... the children marble painted the front cover and then illustrated the inside.  They were asked to draw their favorite oviparous animal!!  Weds we will do the final step and then hang the books in our classroom for everyone to see!!

During Jesus time we read the story when Jesus Enters Jerusalem.... Matthew 21.....  we colored Palm braches and talked about how this Sunday is Palm Sunday.

FYI:  This Saturday Zion is hosting an Easter Egg hunt.  It will be from 10am-12pm and all children birth thru 2nd grade are welcome to attend with their families.  We sent home more information today in your child's folder.

Little Lambs Information:   Little Lambs meets every 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday of each month when school is in session.  This Friday is the 5th Friday and we are going to the zoo.  Even if you have never attended Little Lambs before we would love to have you go to the zoo with us.  Some people are meeting at the Zion and some of us are going to carpool from Zion.  Please see me with any questions or more information if you would like to go to the zoo with us.

snack time

Center Time:
Many of the children were excited to open the egg
and find out what kind of animals are
oviparous!

The children love the sensory table

At one point today 7 out of the 9 friends at school today
were ALL working so cooperatively and quietly at the same table---- many on
individual projects, but so neat to watch!!!!!

Who is Oviparous:

Today were brainstormed what animals the children thought were oviparous.  We then read a story, Chickens aren't the only ones.  It was then very interesting to ask the children the same question..... What kind of animals are oviparous??  They ALL had different answer after reading the story.  Come check out our list in the classroom..........

Jesus Time:Today we read the story of Jonah and the whale.  Ask your child to retell the story with the picture of the whale and Jonah they brought home today!!!
