We were using our wooden pieces(big line and
little line) to follow the patterns

Ivan following the pattern

Brendan following the pattern

Grace following the pattern

Bella following the pattern

Aaron following the pattern

Brody following the pattern

Kenzie following the pattern

The children enjoyed following the patterns on the cards

Way to go Ivan....
He took the wooden pieces and began to spell his name!!!!!

We had new places to sit for snack

We moved the nametags so the children
have an opportunity to sit with new friends
during snack

Wow, our day flew by!!!  We enjoyed the beautiful weather God has given us by playing outside.
Then we came back inside and used our wooden pieces to learn about patterns.  The wooden pieces are also used to learn about letters... today we concentrated on straight pieces.  Later we will work with the curved pieces.  Come in and have fun making patterns with your child :)
When then enjoyed snack and enjoyed having a new place to sit.  Ask your child who he/she gets to sit with.....
When then continued working on our snowmen.... today we added eyes, buttons and named them.... once everyone has finished we will display them in our classroom!
Jesus time we reviewed the story of Jesus feeds 5, 000.... we will spend a little more time on this story Weds and then learn about other miracles Jesus performed!

If anyone is able to bring fruit in for Weds. please email me.... thank you!!

Also, Valentines day is quickly approaching.  If your child would like to share Valentines Day cards with their classmates,it might be a good idea to start now.  It can be a lot of work for some preschoolers. Please just have your child sign his/her name(if they are not writing their name yet, they can just draw a picture on the card and the parent may sign for them).  We will not address them as it is a lot of work for a preschooler and it makes it easier for the child to pass out his/her own Valentines to his/her friends when there isn't a name on the card.  We have 11 children in our class.  Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.  Our party will be February 13th.  Thank you!

Doing an art project

So sorry I missed Monday, but you can find the pictures from Monday above:)

Today we worked on developing fine motor skills, which are a building block to being able to complete many things. From holding a pencil correctly to tying shoes(a later skill).  Finger plays are a fun and easy way to develop fine motors skills.  Today we introduce the names of important fingers---the ones that help us hold a crayon correctly. Thumb, pointer and tall man(middle).  Then we learned a song to help us remember the job of each of those fingers.
Crayon Song
Pick up a crayon, pick up a crayon, this is easy to do
pick up a crayon, pick up a crayon, I just tell my fingers what to do
My thumb is bent, pointer to the tip, tall man uses his sides
I tuck my last 2 fingers in and take them for a ride

Now I'm holding it just right, but not too tight, every finger knows what to do
And now I have a big surprise for you, a big surprise for you
Let's drop it and do it again!

Also during Jesus time we talked about miracles.  We talked about what a miracle is and that Jesus was able to perform many miracles.  The 1st miracle we learned about was.... Jesus feeds 5,000!
We also talked about praying to Jesus when we want to thank Him for our day or ask him for His help.
The children then had a chance to share a prayer request.  Many of the children had a prayer request and I was excited to hear the children willing to share and listen to their thoughtfulness.

Have a wonderful rest of your week!!
