We put something new in the sensory table

A couple of our friends had "extra excitement" over break

So today we started talking about Spring...
and what you might wear in the spring..
A swimsuit?

I also had a winter hat and gloves or a raincoat for the children
to choose from...
most of the children didn't think you would wear any
 of the choice during the Spring

Then we read a book about Spring...
then everyone thought a raincoat was a good choice for Spring

Today we created a "Flower Shop" in our dramatic play area

Some of the choices for a name for our shop.....

Then we asked the children to close their eyes and raise their hands when
they heard the name they wanted.....

The children loved this...

And the winner is........
FLOWER SHOP PRINCESS

and yes if you notice the tally marks most of the children voted
MORE than once:)  which was totally OK... very cute!

The Flower Shop was the most popular center today..
we had to start a sign up list and rotate several times so
everyone got a turn :)

JESUS TIME

In the beginning of Lent we made an Alleluia banner and individual
signs which we hid during the whole Lent season...
Today we got our signs out!!!!
HE is risen!!  Alleluia!!!!!

As I read the story, each time I said Alleluia..... the children shouted
Alleluia and waved their signs!!!

The children very much enjoyed this.....

Happy Easter!!!  It was so exciting to hear  so many of the children share the
good news today at Jesus time.....  HE IS RISEN... was declared by many children!!!
They loved shouting Alleluia and were very excited to bring their signs home!!
It was so wonderful to see everyone back at school today and I really think everyone missed each other.
Everyone was eager and excited to share stories and had a lot of fun together.
As you can see from the pictures our next unit will be Spring.... and with spring we will talk about flowers, insects and
then go into camping!  A FUN finally 6 weeks (or so) left of school.

Our final book order will be due the last week of April:)

A few things to keep in mind..... Zion will offer summer care a few days a week in the Sonshine
building.  I can send more information home if you are interested.
Plus, Zion has a wonderful VBS, which will be June 11- 15.
